Sliding a Big Sealed Bowl of Kitty Litter

Olympic Curling

Olympic Curling... is there any other kind?

Can't say I've ever even heard of a match, game, or whatever they call them being advertised anywhere. I also can't believe that I never watched an entire game, or match, or whatever they call them during any of the other Winter Olympics.

It's actually kind of fun to watch. And I bet it's probably pretty fun to play too. They say these guys really are athletes and they can burn up to 600 calories during one of these games or matches or whatever they call them.

My only question is: Why do they call those slippery sealed Plexiglass bowls full of kitty litter, rocks?

Popeye

Popey, the baby girl

This is one of the first photos taken of our little "Fred" (yet another nickname from left field) after she came home from the hospital.

The picture frame....

I was self employed at the time and one of my best customers was a little late paying a final bill. My wife kept asking me to "make the call."  She was my best customer and I just didn't want to. I knew she'd pay. I also knew she wasn't one of those who purposefully left what was now my money in her account until it earned another twenty three cents interest for her.

Finally my wife asked if she could call. "Alright, go ahead," I said.

She called.

"Oh here it is, I'm sorry," said my customer as she found my bill under a stack of other envelopes she hadn't gone through yet. "By the way, did you get the baby present I sent?"

"I was so embarrassed, I don't ever want to do that again," my wife told me later.

"Wasn't my idea," I said.

Left Over Bear

Valentine Bear

At least it doesn't start leaking stuffing like a Christmas tree loses needles.

This little bear is a Valentine's Day decoration sitting on the piano that, who knows, might just be sitting there through spring and summer.

That's the way it goes around here sometimes.

Baby on the Refrigerator

Newborn

I can't believe how small....

... I was back then, when she was so tiny.

someone magneted this to the refrigerator and I just found it.

Maybe they're trying to tell me something.

I think I'll have some ice cream.

Oh, all right, some low fat, low sugar ice cream then.

Olympic Observations

Face Book Applications

OK, so it wasn't actually an observation that I made today, but I was encouraged today when looking at on-line Olympics  news and found another useful and informative application - Facebook applications do not NEED to be of the "What color are your internal aquariumville wars?" sort and they do not need to post silly pictures ridiculously referred to as "gifts" on your friend's walls.

I just wish I had more daily development time. I'm still experimenting a lot.

And speaking of the Olympics, I just asked my daughter if the female figure skaters are still doing the "dog taking a leak" maneuver this year? She said she didn't know, "but the guys are doing this 'I love myself way too much move.'

I don't know what that maneuver was, but it seemed like Michelle Kwan was the only one who could make it look good. Everyone else looked like ... well... like a dog taking a leak.

Are You Effing Kidding Me?

No More Grapefruit

I can't believe I never noticed this label before. Are you effing kidding me? Turns out grapefruit is NOT a good idea at all for me right now.

How's that for a daily observation/kick in the _____?

I'm bummed.

One Of The Best In A While

Posted by Leon Palmer Tuesday, February 16, 2010 6:52:46 PM

City Of Thieves

Now this was one of the best books I've read in a while. Carol and I don't always have the same taste in books. She gave it to me when she was done. She said it was one of the best she had read in a while.

I wouldn't have thought it was one she would have liked.
